Mark M. Stewart

Mark M. Stewart joined the firm in 1988 and was elected Shareholder in 1992. He has devoted his practice to medical malpractice litigation, specializing in the defense of physicians, nurses, hospitals and HMOs. He has tried or arbitrated in excess of 200 cases.

Mr. Stewart received his B.S. cum laude from Boston's Emerson College in 1977, where he was Gold Key. He received his J.D. cum laude from St. Louis University School Of Law in 1981, and served two years as a staff member of the St. Louis University Law Journal. He clerked for two judges on the Missouri Court of Appeals and worked for a litigation firm in St. Louis, trying cases in Federal and State court. It was there that he received his first flavor of medical malpractice cases, which he found both challenging and fascinating.

Mr. Stewart's ethical practice and professionalism have been recognized by his peers, as reflected in his AV rating by Martindale-Hubbell. He holds law licenses in Missouri, Illinois, and California, is admitted to practice in several Federal Courts, and is a member of the Association Of Southern California Defense counsel.

Mr. Stewart was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 19, 1953. He is proud of his wife, Lynn Ann Leveridge, who continues to be a working actor, appearing over the years in television and film. They have two adult daughters and live in the San Fernando Valley. Mark is active in the Alumni Association of Emerson College and has served as the President of the Southern California Alumni Chapter since 2006. He is an avid cook, bicyclist, and photographer, and has been known to spend considerable time following The Saint Louis Cardinals.
